Khartoum launches its major campaign to combat disease vectors and announces the removal of most war remnants and corpses.

Khartoum State witnessed the launch this morning of a major campaign to combat seasonal diseases during the winter, primarily aimed at controlling disease vectors in Greater Omdurman. Senior officials from the Ministry of Health, led by Director General Dr. Fath Al-Rahman Mohamed Al-Amin, attended the campaign's launch, along with a number of local administrators and representatives from humanitarian agencies and civil society organizations, most notably the Child Welfare Organization, which is supporting the campaign's implementation. The campaign's activities focus on intensive weekly drying operations, carried out on Saturdays and Tuesdays, in addition to house-to-house inspections targeting breeding grounds for disease vectors, particularly dengue fever. These efforts are scheduled to continue for a full month to cover all areas of Khartoum State. In related environmental and health updates, the Director General of the Khartoum State Ministry of Health announced significant progress in removing 99% of war remnants and human remains from affected areas. This work is being carried out in cooperation with the Forensic Medicine Authority, the Civil Defense Forces, and the Sudanese Red Crescent Society, alongside the tireless efforts of medical and environmental personnel working amidst the challenges of war. The "White Army" team played a pivotal role in providing first aid and evacuating the wounded during periods of conflict, in addition to continuing its work to improve environmental sanitation and restore health stability in the state. During his speech at the campaign launch ceremony held in Khalifa Square in Omdurman, the Minister emphasized the importance of this initiative in addressing the health risks that increase during seasonal transitions. He affirmed the Ministry's commitment to completely eradicating disease vectors such as malaria and dengue fever within the next two weeks. He also called on citizens to actively participate in supporting and ensuring the success of the campaign, noting that cooperation between the government and the local community remains the cornerstone of achieving the campaign's objectives and enhancing health security in Khartoum. With optimism and hope, all eyes are on the success of this campaign, which is considered a serious step towards environmental cleanup and revitalizing Khartoum State, paving the way for the return of citizens and the stabilization of conditions after the difficult period left by the war.
